For sale is a Vintage Elkhart 55C Cornet with Case and mouthpiece. The horn has been professionally tested and inspected by a local brass and woodwind repair shop, Evanston Band And Orchestra, and found to be in great playing condition. Has a quick change rod to switch from key of A to Bb. The rod is missing the nut. The mouthpiece just says Cornet on it, no specific size. All the valves and slides are smooth. Nice silver satin finish. The serial number is 96699
, which online research dates this horn around 1933. The horn is in excellent condition, there is a hairline crack on the bell as seen in the last photo. It does not go all the way through the metal. A couple very tiny dings, very clean for its age! Please view photos carefully, this item is sold as is.
